 Troubleshooting Tips

 

 

If your light won't turn on:

 

1.Make sure that you have removed the clear plastic tab from the battery compartment.

2.Make sure you're testing the light in a dark environment. Completely cover the solar panel to simulate darkness.

3.Open the battery compartment and check that the battery didn't become dislodged during shipping.

4.Turn the unit off and allow it to charge in direct sunlight for a couple days.

 

If your light doesn't stay on for long:

 

1.Make sure its in a location that gets a lot of sunlight.

2.Make sure the solar panel is nice and clean.

3.Please be aware that battery life will be reduced in cold temperatures.

 

 

If the usage time is shortened:

 

1. Please wipe off the dust and debris on the energy plate

2. Insufficient charging due to rainy days

 

 

Care and Maintenance

 

1.The LEDs in your post cap lights will last up to 100,000 hours and will not need to be

replaced.

2Light output will depend on how much sunlight the post cap absorbs during the day. Make

sure the solar panel is not covered by dust, dirt, snow, or debris. Anything that obstructs

the solar panel can dramatically reduce performance.

3.To keep your lights looking new, clean them occasionally with a soft damp cloth. Avoid the

use of abrasive cleaning agents as these may damage their UV coating.

4.In the cold winter months, battery life will be reduced due to lower operating temperatures

and fewer hours of sunlight. To prolong the life of your lights, consider storing them inside

during the winter. Remove the batteries, and store in a dry location.

 

Replacing the Battery

 

All rechargeable batteries start to lose their charge after several hundred charging cycles.

You may find it necessary to replace the battery after about 18-24 months. Luckily it’s

easy to do so!

The battery is located under the unit's head section, near the LED bulb. Just open the

battery compartment and remove the battery.

Replace the battery with a brand new 3.2V 300mAh (or greater mAh) AA lithium ion

rechargeable battery. You can easily find these online or at your local hardware store.

Please dispose of the old battery properly.
